Financial Wealth Management Company Prepares to Reward Local Arts Organizations
for Sound Fiscal Management
November 6, 2008 – Stanford Group Company, along with the Sarasota Arts Council and Ringling College of Art and Design recently announced the finalists for this year’s Stanford Financial Excellence in the Arts (SFEA) Awards at the Sarasota County Arts Council’s 10th Annual Awards Celebration.
Designed to recognize and reward those arts organizations that demonstrate sound fiscal management, this is the third year that the Stanford Group Company has awarded local arts organizations with SFEA funds. Each SFEA grant cycle consists of $5,000 in scholarships to Ringling College of Art & Design for the creation of the physical award, and two unrestricted grants: one grant of $20,000 for organizations with revenues in excess of $1,500,000 and another grant for $10,000 for organizations with revenues below $1,500,000.
Past recipients included the Asolo Theatre and Florida Studio Theatre, winners of the $20,000 grant and Banyan Theater Company and The Players Theatre, winners of the $10,000 grant.
The finalists for this year’s SFEA grant cycle are Florida Studio Theatre, Sarasota Orchestra and South Florida Museum for the $20,000 grant and Artists Series, Sarasota’s Chorus of the Keys and Manatee Players are the finalists for the $10,000 grant.
“This year’s Stanford Financial Excellence in the Arts Awards is particularly notable for two reasons: this year is the first year the SFEA grant process was open to arts organizations in Manatee County; and given the current financial markets, we’ve never been more resolute in our commitment to sound fiscal management,” says Chuck Vollmer, managing director of Stanford Group Company office on Longboat Key.
“As a global financial wealth management company dedicated to the prudent management of our clients’ assets, we feel it’s important to reward those arts organizations who not only enrich our community’s cultural bottom line, but also demonstrate excellent fiscal management of their own bottom lines,” further states Vollmer.
The winners of this year’s Stanford Financial Excellence in the Arts Awards will be announced on November 19.
